My Story

I built FitGPT because ChatGPT couldn't keep up with me.

By Davis R · Founder & first user

About a year and a half ago I made a decision: I was going to change my body. I started lifting. I started tracking what I ate. I leaned on ChatGPT for workouts and macros because, honestly, it was free and it was right there.

It worked — for a few weeks.

Then the cracks showed.

Every time I opened a new chat, the AI had no idea who I was. I'd start over. "I'm 6'1", I lift four days a week, I play lacrosse, my goal is X." Same prompt. Every time.

And the macros? Generic. It didn't know I'd just run a 90-minute lacrosse practice. It didn't know I lifted heavy that morning. It gave me a flat number that ignored my actual caloric burn — so on practice days I was eating way under, and on rest days I was eating way over.

I told my dad. He asked: "What if it remembered everything? What if your macros adjusted to what you actually burned, every day?"

That's how FitGPT started.

We built it for me first. Then we realized every person like me — every athlete, every lifter, anyone trying to recomp — was hitting the same wall.

What changed for me

Eighteen months in. Real food. Real lifts. For the last several months I've been training and tracking with FitGPT every day — testing every feature, breaking it, fixing it.

The numbers matter less than what changed inside my head: I stopped guessing. The app remembers my favorite meals, knows when I trained hard, and gives me macros that fit my day — not someone else's average.

What we built into FitGPT

Everything I needed ChatGPT to be:

A note from the founders

This app was a labor of love that my Dad and I collaborated on. We really enjoy working on projects together. AI was great to use, but it lacked the context of what was discussed last week — so we joined forces to bring this to market.

FitGPT is the result of late nights, weekend builds, a lot of "what if we tried this?", and ideas from friends along the way.

If you're where I was — frustrated with generic plans, tired of starting over with AI that forgets you, or just want a coach in your pocket that adapts as you do — give FitGPT a shot.

I've been training and tracking with it every day for months. It works. Now it's yours.

Train smarter. Track easier. Start today.
